Layout compose
Admin → Layout turns on compose mode (exclusive with Edit — second click turns Layout off). You rearrange widgets in page content regions only — header, global nav, and other site chrome are not drag targets.
Empty regions
On an empty canvas region, Dropbits shows a compose palette: pick a widget type to place the first block. That uses the same path as adding a widget elsewhere (add_page_widget via available layout types).
The + picker
Between or at the ends of blocks, use + / Add block to open the insert picker:
- Choose a widget type from the menu.
- For Listing, pick an entity from the site’s registered list — no free-text name.
- The new block appears in that region.
- Switch to Edit (or stay in Layout) to fill fields.
Reorder, move, remove
In Layout mode, widget bars let you:
- Reorder within a region
- Move between regions (when the page template allows)
- Remove a widget from the page (content tools; not the same as deleting media files)
Listing templates
Some listing widgets expose a Template control (cards / table / default) in layout mode — presentation recipes, not a separate theme editor.
